    Relaxation is the key to riding a bike well, the more relaxed you are the better the bike will feel, to many think that they are in control when in fact they’re merely a passenger and just along for the ride. You “drive” your car but you “blend with your bike” and you cannot make it do something it doesn’t want to. Learn this and you’ll reach a whole other level in biking.

    The motorcycle from Zhongneng (Moto Morini) looks damn good but it is not really convincing. The chassis is too soft for the road and the ergonomics for the rider are poor for off-road use. The engine is a licensed version of the old Kawasaki engine, which not only has less power but also produces strong vibrations at higher speeds. The small Brembo front brake is overwhelmed by the very high weight of over 230kg. The price is very fair but I would rather spend the same amount of money on a young Yamaha Tenere700.

    • @JohnGriifin
      @JohnGriifin 10 днів тому

      Have you even ridden one? Frame has extra bracing, note massive lower triple clamp & 50mm inverted Marzocchi fork. It handles excellent on street and dirt. Pegs, bars, and shape of tank are great for standing off-road. This bike kills a KLR650 which has minimal power, single disc front, etc. and that is really only other bike in same price range.

    • @Gmac237
      @Gmac237 9 днів тому

      John, why are you comparing it to a single cylinder Kawasaki KLR 650 ? I do agree that they have two things in common the Moto Morini and KLR are both overweight and under powered 😂 If you want a realistic test on how the Moto Morini performs off road check out the test on Big Rock Moto !

    Your what if rule was taught to me in my motorcycle safety years ago. They call it SIPD which stands for Scan Identify Predict Decide and it has served me well for 30 years of riding to where (knock on wood) I never put a bike down and never had an accident. Some close calls with drivers not paying attention (on their cell phones) but singling them out ahead of time has saved me. Note I do this even when driving my cars.... anyway, little less yappin about some crashes would be better but overall great advice

    Interesting bike... I'm seeing wet weight at 515lbs (heavyweight ADV class). If that's true then it's a tarmac focused bike but one with low power. Given that mix I'm not quite sure where it fits (other than for someone super cost sensitive)?

    • @MOTOPILOT6
      @MOTOPILOT6 15 днів тому

      Nah, this bike works great off-road. Plus most adventure riders keep it pretty mild in the dirt. There are plenty of dirt worthy adv bikes that weight much more. And the power pushes the weight just fine. People need to quit hyper focusing on just the numbers. They don't tell the whole story.

  • @rweaver6
    @rweaver6 18 днів тому

    It's easy *if* you practice. If you don't practice and just wing it, you will likely fail. When I took it decades ago, I was the only one of my group of 6 testees that had practiced beforehand. So I was the only one who passed, that morning. The other dunderheads who thought they were hot-s**t were proven otherwise. I agree with everything, except I practiced *not* working the clutch (my bike was only 100 cc) and rode the test mostly that way; fine throttle control. But it depends on your bike, whatever gives you maximum low-speed balance and control. Unless you can *easily* pass this ride test, you don't have control of the bike and you're a danger to yourself and others and you shouldn't ride on the street. If you pass, that's just the minimum. The video's final advice, "don't expect anyone else to watch out for you" is very good. It will keep you alive.
